Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG:
Mundane Monster Generator

The purpose of this page is to quickly generate general purpose wandering encounters. You won't find any epic dragons here or an Ogre King for the grand finale. For unique, special monsters, refer to the core books on how to build them as it is always more fun and personal to roll your own.

Feel free to print a few of these and keep them in your Judge's Bag of Death Stuff for when your players go off-script and you need to kill them.

Basic Monster Information:

Type of Encounter: Good old tavern fight. Stakes may not be high, but the chaos is. Regular animals found in nature. May not pose a challenge, but they are not pushovers. Strange unnatural variations of animals. Much more dangerous than animals. Combination of five random animals, including their traits and special abilities. Gelatinous creatures that hunt by surprising the target. Artificial creations. From flesh creatures to iron. From small spider-like constructs to large humanoids. Humans are always causing problems. More dangerous than the Tavern Fight category. Not quite human, very bizarre (from DCC RPG Core Book). Goblins, Hobgoblins, and Bugbears. Always fun to throw at an unsuspecting party. General Information:

The creatures generated here are a combination of the Dungeon Crawl Classics Rulebook 4th Printing (aesthetics and weapon types), the ‘DCC Quick Monster Stats’ available on the free resources page, and my personal fudging around based on what I think looks right.

Humanoids and Undead are taken straight from the core rulebook. Goodman Games gave me their ok as long as I didn't make money off of this, so it's all good.
